In this issue, you will read about a number of grants that my staff and I have successfully pursued.  My goal for the first term was 2 million dollars in grants and federal funding for the things we want that would never otherwise be in our budget.  Grants are tricky.  You have to know the ones with too many strings attached and the ones that create legal nightmares.  I work the State Capitol and track legislation to see where the state funds are going and who needs to be "contacted" to get that money.  I appreciate the City Council allowing me the resources to be in Little Rock and around the state at the meetings that result in this grant money coming to Greenwood.  We are over the 2 million dollar mark in grants and state or federal funding . . . and still going!
