It's an All-American day for your Parks & Recreation Department!  Supporting events sponsored and organized by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and the South Sebastian County Boys & Girls Club there's never a dull moment.

The day starts with the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce annual Freedomfest 5K Run. With divisions for all ages more than 200 people come each year to run in this fun spirited event. Check with the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce for exact times and dates.

Following the 5K Run the Town Square comes alive with a community-wide old fashioned picnic with music, games and food booths.  People of all ages enjoy the day, especially the opportunity to visit with friends and meet visitors and new comers to the town.  Freedomfest has earned a reputation of family entertainment.

No alcohol is allowed and food booths are sponsored by non-profit organizations. This event is made possible by donations of money and time by Greenwood area businesses. Freedomfest is organized by and benefits the Sebastian County Boys and Girls Club

Come celebrate the Fall Season with Arts and Crafts Vendors, lots of food, and plenty of activities for the whole family.

The 4th Annual Bell Park Fall Festival was held on November 1st, 2008 from 10:00am - 4:00PM.  This perfect day included Pony Rides,  a Petting Zoo, Bounce Arounds, a Hay Ride, Carnival Games, and  Face Painting.  Music was provided by "DJ Rich"

A Child ID Program was provided by the Greenwood Police Department and the Greenwood Fire Department brought a Fire Truck for all to see.  Local Boy Scout Troops participated and all manner of food vendors including Chuck Wagon Chili and Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler, Roasted Corn, and Baked Goods.  Many Arts and Crafts Vendors were also present.

Planning for 5th Annual Festival has begun and interested vendors are encouraged to contact the Parks Department any time for information on participating.

We hope every year is bigger and better than the one before. The tentative date for next years event is November 7th 2009.
