In July 2007, the Greenwood City Council adopted an advertising and promotion tax ordinance levying a 1 percent tax on the gross proceeds of dining establishments and a 3 percent tax on the gross proceeds of lodging properties.
The Greenwood Advertising and Promotion Commission oversees the distribution of those revenues from the tax, which began being levied January 1st of 2008.
